Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about transforming your space with Mahone’s Wallpaper Shop.

How do I calculate how much wallpaper I need to order?

To determine the number of rolls required, measure the width and height of each wall in feet. Multiply these to get the total square footage, then divide by the square foot coverage listed on the specific wallpaper's product page. We always recommend ordering 10-15% extra to account for pattern matching and trimming.

What is the difference between 'Pre-pasted' and 'Unpasted' wallpaper?

Pre-pasted wallpaper comes with a dry adhesive on the back that is activated by dipping the paper in water. Unpasted wallpaper requires you to purchase and apply wallpaper paste separately to either the paper or the wall, depending on the manufacturer's instructions.

Can I request a sample before committing to a full order?

Yes, we highly recommend ordering samples. Because screen resolutions vary, colors may appear differently online than in person. Most of our patterns offer a sample size option so you can check the color, texture, and scale in your own lighting.

What is your return policy for wallpaper rolls?

We accept returns on unopened, factory-sealed rolls within 30 days of delivery, subject to a 25% restocking fee. Please note that samples and custom-cut orders are non-refundable. All returns must be authorized by our customer service team to ensure they are sent to the correct warehouse.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

In-stock items typically ship within 2-3 business days. If an item is backordered from the manufacturer, we will notify you immediately with an estimated ship date. Standard ground shipping usually takes 3-7 business days depending on your location.

What is a 'dye lot' or 'run number' and why does it matter?

A dye lot or run number identifies wallpaper rolls printed at the same time. Colors can vary slightly between different print runs. When you order from Mahone’s, we ensure all rolls in a single order come from the same dye lot for a perfect color match across your walls.
